How to study for JLPT N1

N1 study requires more than memorizing isolated vocabulary and grammar. Use this page to practice understanding how ideas connect across longer passages, how meaning changes with context, and how key points are expressed in natural Japanese. The question text and answer choices intentionally remain in Japanese because they are part of the language task. Use the study history to identify weak topics and revisit them before taking another mock exam.

Skills to review at N1

Focus on vocabulary and grammar in context, organization of longer texts, nuanced claims, implied meaning, and the main points of connected speech and explanations.
